Cleaning your gas stove is a chore that many people prefer to postpone. If you keep postponing it, however, your gas stove will become dirtier. In addition, many people hate cleaning the gas burners as well. With these tips, your gas stove and gas burners will be clean in no time.
Clean the gas burners
Perhaps the biggest disadvantage of a gas stove is cleaning it. Let’s be honest: Do you immediately clean your gas burners after cooking? That would be best of course! It is wise to clean the gas burners thoroughly once in a while.
To do this, you will need the following:
– boiling water
– old dishcloth
– kitchen gloves
Step 1: cleaning cast iron pan supports
A gas stove consists of several parts: cast iron pan supports (the racks), aluminium gas burners and burner covers. The cast iron pan supports are often very greasy and can best be soaked in boiling water with a large amount of soda. This can simply be done in the sink. The pan supports can be easily cleaned by scrubbing them after soaking in hot water for 30 minutes. Make sure to dry them thoroughly using an old tea towel as this will prevent rust from forming.
Tip: Pull the knobs off of the gas stove and let them soak in boiling water together with the pan supports. The knobs are often very greasy and dirty. Dry them using an old dishcloth after soaking.
